Rotary club of Golaghat observed World Soil Day-2025 on 5th December at Pub Anchalik Khumtai High School to raise awareness about the importance of healty soil and promote sustainable management of soil resources and climate resilience sustainable agriculture. The observance was linked with one of the programme ?Saptadhara? from the School?s authority as instructed by Department of Education, Govt. of Assam. It was attended by students, teachers, Chairman of School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) and Rotarians. Rtn Dr Minuara Begum, Past President delivered the speech on the theme ?Healthy Soil for healthy cities? On her speech she emphasized how urban soil filters water, store carbon and cool cities. She also highlighted the crucial role of urban soil in supporting food production, water management, temperature regulation and biodiversity and sustainable environment. At the end three Amla saplings were planted in the school?s campus to mark the occasion.
