Adult Literacy Rotary Club Of Golaghat inaugurated its second Adult Literacy Centre with the inmates of District Jail Golaghat on 9th December, 2025. Regular classes were conducted as per their stipulated time table by an appointed Sikha Mitra Sri Gopal Saikia (Jail inmates). On behalf of the club Rtn Dr Minuara Begum, Past President visited the jail and took one class on 6th January, 2026 following the protocols of the jail. There were 28 registered inmates and they were taught reading and writing in Assamese alphabets so that they can configure the words. It was noticed that they have gradually builds self confidence and independence. Writing materials were provided to them.
